AI Pack is an optional module that lets doctors speak a prescription instead of typing it, and offers suggestions while they write. This article explains what it does, what it deliberately does not do, and how the shared allowance works.

What it does
Voice dictation
Instead of typing each medicine, the doctor dictates the prescription aloud — drug, dose, frequency, duration — and it comes back as structured prescription lines: drug name, composition, dose, frequency, timing (before or after food) and duration, each in its own field.
This is the part that saves real time in a busy OPD. Speaking four medicines is considerably faster than typing four medicines, and the doctor keeps their eyes on the patient rather than the keyboard.
Suggestions while writing
As a doctor writes, the system offers relevant suggestions drawn from the catalogue and from what that doctor commonly prescribes.
AI Insights on the assessment
Where AI suggestions are switched on for your clinic, a walk-in prescription screen opens on the AI Insights tab. Once the doctor saves the assessment with at least a chief complaint or a symptom, it reads everything recorded on the assessment screen — vitals, previous labs and medicines, allergies, complaints and symptoms, notes and examination — and sets out a clinical picture for the doctor to review: possible red flags, conditions to consider, tests that would help and questions worth asking. Editing the assessment refreshes it. It never diagnoses and never prescribes; the doctor decides.
What it does not do
This matters more than the feature list, so it is worth being direct.
- It does not diagnose. It transcribes and structures what the doctor said. It does not decide what the patient should be given.
- It does not sign anything. Only the doctor signs, and only after reviewing the items.
- It does not bypass any clinical check. Every rule that applies to a typed prescription applies identically to a dictated one, including the restrictions on prescribing certain drug classes during a video consultation.
Anything uncertain is flagged, and blocks signing
Where the system is not confident it heard or understood an item correctly, that item is marked for review. Flagged items are highlighted, and the prescription cannot be signed until the doctor confirms or corrects every one of them.
This is the single most important thing to understand about the feature. A dictated prescription is a draft prepared by a machine until a doctor has looked at it. The block is deliberate and cannot be switched off.
How the allowance works
AI Pack is measured in AI events. One event is roughly one use — for example, dictating one prescription.
Two things are worth knowing:
- The allowance is per doctor, but pooled. Each enabled doctor adds their allowance to a shared clinic pool, and any enabled doctor can draw from it. A doctor who dictates every consultation and a doctor who rarely does will balance each other out — you are not managing a separate quota per person.
- Only enabled doctors count. You choose which doctors are on AI Pack. Doctors who are not enabled neither contribute to the pool nor draw from it.
Your clinic admin can see the current position under Clinic Settings → AI Pack: how many events are included per doctor, how many of your doctors are enabled, how much of the pool has been used so far, and which AI model is currently generating your clinic's clinical insights (Treatlly chooses and updates that for you). If you go beyond the pooled allowance, the card tells you what happens on your plan: either further usage is billed on your next invoice, or AI pauses until the allowance resets on the 1st.
Who can turn it on
Your clinic admin adds the AI Pack from Billing → Manage / Upgrade → Enhance with add-ons; it needs Digital prescriptions, which is ticked for you. Having it on the subscription is the switch: an AI Pack card then appears in Clinic Settings, listing every doctor with an On / Off button and an "N of M doctors on AI Pack" count. All doctors start On. A doctor switched on at any point in a month is charged for that month; switching one off drops them from the next invoice.
Voice dictation and AI suggestions are each switched on or off separately, in the AI features block on the Digital prescriptions card, so a clinic can have the pack with dictation off. Removing the pack is done on the same plan page; because it is metered, it ends on your next charge date rather than the moment you confirm.
What patients see
Nothing different. A dictated prescription and a typed prescription produce exactly the same signed PDF, with the same doctor details and signature. There is no indication to the patient of how it was written, because from a clinical standpoint there is no difference — a doctor reviewed and signed both.
Privacy
Dictation is processed to turn speech into structured prescription text. Only what is needed for that is processed, and the resulting prescription is stored in your clinic's own records exactly like any other. Our privacy policy sets out how clinical data is handled.
